Victoriya and Nick’s Parq West Wedding

Simple, elegant, and intimate. Those are the words that come to mind when I think about Victoriya and Nick’s wedding at Parq West in downtown San Diego. Simple because they chose to only focus on having a few events as part of their wedding day timeline. Elegant because the details all tied together perfectly, from the beautiful flow of Victoriya’s dress to the reception details. And intimate because they chose to keep the cerebration small with their closest family and friends. :)

Parq West Wedding Venue

When Victoriya mentioned that her wedding was going to be at this recently renovated venue, I was so excited! Formerly known as the San Diego Woman’s Club, Parq West went through major renovations in 2017. The exterior of the building still holds its colonial style charm with the partially exposed brick walls and the white columns out front.

Sidenote – I’m such a sucker for brick buildings! While I love San Diego, getting to shoot a few weddings on the East Coast with all of the brick and old buildings would be a dream! But, I digress – back to Nick and Victoriya. :)

Their Wedding Day

In getting to know Victoriya in the months leading up to the wedding, I could tell that she was a “get business done and then have fun” type of girl. So, as she walked me through her vision of the wedding day, it made perfect sense! They wanted to keep it simple and skip the getting ready formalities. Instead, they started off with a celebratory round of shots with their family and closest friends!

We then went right into the ceremony which was inside the venue’s ballroom. Their wedding fell on one of the hottest days of the summer, so having an indoor ceremony was such a relief! Victoriya and Nick kept the ceremony short and sweet and shared heartfelt vows with one another before sealing it with a kiss.

From there, they were ready to get on the dance floor, enjoy some drinks, and just have a fun time celebrating with everyone! Victoriya and Nick, thank you for letting me be part of your special day!
